Veteran coach Clint Farrell enters his second season as coach of our Squirts. The Toronto native played minor hockey with the Toronto Nationals and Dorset Park Bruins of the MTHL and junior with the OHA Scarborough Bruins, with and against numerous future NHLers. A center/defenseman on ice, Clint was also an MVP goalie in the Toronto Ball Hockey League. After college, Clint was player coach of the Richmond, British Columbia senior men’s team, then coached Richmond midget teams for several seasons, winning a pair of Fraser Valley League titles and a provincial final appearance in 1998. After coming to New York, Clint joined Brewster Hockey as a Mite development instructor and coached their AA Mite Bulldogs before joining Putnam in 2014. Clint completed the Hockey Canada coaching certification program and has Level 3 certification from USA Hockey.
“I’m very impressed with Putnam Hockey. The administrative support and focus on family activities is outstanding.”
With over 45 years in hockey, Clint really enjoys teaching sound fundamentals, skills, the “little things”, and “thinking the game” to young players. His teams play an up-tempo, flowing style that gets everyone involved.
