Since 1973, the Putnam Hockey Association (PHA) has been a cornerstone of the regional hockey community, dedicated to fostering growth, sportsmanship, and a deep-rooted love for the game. As a non-profit organization aligned with the core values of USA Hockey, we provide a welcoming, tight-knit culture where every player is given a fair and equal opportunity to excel.

We are thrilled to announce that registration for tryouts is officially open for the 2026 - 2027 season. Whether you are a returning Panther or looking to join our community for the first time, we invite you to experience a program that prioritizes player development both on and off the ice.

Every full-season tuition (Mite through Bantam) now includes:

Year-Round Mastery: 10 weeks of specialized pre-season training, featuring a 5-week Spring Skills clinic and a 5-week Summer Skills clinic along with in-season specialized clinics with guest coaches.
Maximum Competition: A comprehensive schedule of 40+ total games, including 20+ home games and two major tournaments.
Actionable Growth: Strategic guidance from two dedicated Player Development Directors, complemented by mid-year report cards (Squirt through Bantam) and our "Panther Analytics" stats tracking program (Squirt through Bantam).

2026 - 2027 Program Offerings

We are fielding teams for Mini Mites (6U) through Midgets (18U). Please note that per USA Hockey regulations, Squirt through Bantam team rosters are limited to 18 skaters and 2 goalies; final roster numbers are determined by PHA.

Mites (Birth Years 2020, 2019, 2018)

5 week Spring pre-season skills clinic;
5 week Summer pre-season skills clinic;
On-ice practices beginning September through early March (two, 1-hour practices per week);
Full travel season with home and away games from September to March (home rink is Trinity Pawling with occasional use of Brewster Ice Arena);
Anticipated full-ice slots for 2018s (January ‘27);
2 mid-season travel Tournaments;
End of season CHC State Tournament.

Squirt (10U) – Bantam (14U)

5 week Spring pre-season skills clinics;
5 week Summer pre-season skills clinics;
On-ice practices beginning September through early March (two, 1-hour practices per week);
In-season clinics featuring guest coaches;
Specialized weekly goalie training;
Full travel season with 40+ home and away games from September to March (home rink is Trinity Pawling with occasional use of Brewster Ice Arena, ~20+ home games per season);
2 mid-season travel Tournaments;
End of season CHC State Tournament.

Midget (18U) Full Season

A complete September–February schedule with a minimum of one practice held at Trinity Pawling or Brewster Ice Arena, approximately 48 game slots (24 home and ~24 away) and at least one tournament. Check back for more details and tryout dates.

Midget (18U) Split Season

Designed for the high school athlete, offering competitive play (approx. 10 home and 10 away games) from August through November before the High School season gets underway. The majority of practices and home games will be held at Brewster Ice Arena until mid-October when some activities may move to Trinity Pawling. Check back for more details and tryout dates.

Tryout & Registration Process

To maintain our high standards of play, all participants (Squirts through Midgets) must be evaluated by our coaching staff.

Tryout Registration: All players—both current and prospective—must register for tryouts in advance. The $70 evaluation fee includes a custom tryout jersey for the player to keep. Click HERE for tryout information.

Season Commitment: Upon successfully making a team, a $400 non-refundable registration deposit is required to secure your roster spot. This deposit is applied directly toward your season tuition.

Uniforms: Jerseys are purchased separately through WESCO. Once a player is placed on a team, new players should contact info@putnamhockey.com to secure an official jersey number.

2026 - 2027 Season Tuition

Our tuition is designed to be all-inclusive, covering your regular season, tournament entries, and our expanded skills clinics. Team eligibility is determined by your player's birth year.

• Mini Mites - $625

• Mites (2018, 2019, 2020) - $2,080

• Squirts (2016, 2017) - $2,395

• Peewees (2014, 2015) - $2,395

• Bantams (2012, 2013) - $2,680

• Midgets AA Full - TBD

• Midgets A Full - TBD

Dedicated goalie players will receive half price tuition from Peewee level up. Tuition includes weekly goalie specialized training.

Family & Recruitment Incentives

We are a community-first organization, and we reward those who help us grow:

New Recruit Discount: Recruit a new player (Mite and up) and receive 10% off your tuition (up to two discounts per family). If you have multiple children in the program the discount will be applied against the costs for your child with the highest tuition. You must be a current member in good standing of the PHA.
Sibling Discounts: We offer tiered discounts for families with multiple players ($225 for the 2nd; $275 for the 3rd; and $300 for the 4th). Sibling discounts cannot be applied to Goalie positions as discount is already taken.
